“Anything the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve”

– Joe Redington Sr.

I am a wife, mother, teacher and professional natural Bodybuilder currently ranked 3rd at Fitness America World Championships. I am actively involved with the Alaska running and fitness community. I began running in 2005 and have completed 5ks, a full marathon and all distances in between. I write monthly fitness challenges hosted on the website link below. In addition to monthly articles and daily FB inspirations, I can be reached with questions the third Monday of every month on HUGS radio. The HUGS team is here to help you break through and live your best life-- body, mind and spirit.

I belong to a family of dreamers – a family whose legacy includes; the inception of the Iditarod – The Toughest Dog Sled Race on Earth, summating Mt. McKinley with a dog team, and a legacy of achievements related to dog mushing and Alaskan history paralleled by none.

My athletic goals are simple;

- It is my intention as a Natural Bodybuilder to be an walking billboard for self-respect through proper nutrition and exercise.

- To inspire both women and men to strive for personal greatness, forgo shortcuts, temptations and embrace the journey of developing lifelong habits that promote health and wellness.

The side effects of these goals have been increased energy, confidence, and improved health.

Additionally these same actions have inspired my family to make their own health a priority along with many friends who have set and achieved personal goals too. Knowing that my lifestyle inspires others to set and accomplish new goals is rewarding beyond words.
We are all worth investing in. We are all capable of achieving greatness. It took me years to overcome many useless and sabotaging thought patterns and actions and I still have many areas for improvement.

Many of us are our own worst enemies. Why not instead become our best advocates?

Just 6 weeks ago I saw my doctor for leg numbness and muscle tightness.

To be honest, it had been present for years. My evaluation revealed several points of muscle imbalance, so we got to work right away with Redcord and Trigger Point Dry Needle Therapy.

I can honestly say that I have never received such aggressive and individualized care nor have I ever been able to achieve these results, let alone in 6 weeks, in spite of my best previous attempts.

The attention to detail during sessions is second to none and I look forward to what the next 6 weeks of therapy will do.

Whether you are a competitive athlete or a person in search of maximizing your overall health, I highly recommend Northern Edge Physical Therapy.

Aim high. Never give up, surround yourself with people who bring out your best, believe in yourself, forgive - forgive and focus on health and well-being. There is no magic pill, no secrets and no shortcuts to true excellence. This is true in health, education, business, character and on and on.

  “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?
